You may have already heard of the hit American television series Hannah Montana. By far, it is one of the most well-known television series that have captured the hearts of many teens and young adults. Mainly, the series focuses on a girl who lives a double life as an average teenage school girl by day and as a famous pop singer by night. Girl's name as an average teenage girl is Miley Stewart played by Miley Cyrus and as a famous pop singer is Hannah Montana. Many of the girl's close friends and family members didn't know her real identity which actually makes everything very exciting.

The series debuted on March 24, 2006 on Disney Channel and became an Emmy Award-nominee.

The television series gained great popularity. It got very high ratings and the concerts for Hannah Montana have also been very popular. In fact, tickets for every concert were all sold out with some sold at very high price.

The concert was brought to many places and was entitled "The Best of Both Worlds", which reflects the dual character of the girl in the series. The concert was choreographed, created and directed by Kenny Ortega, the director and choreographer of The Cheetah Girls 2, High School Musical, and High School Musical 2. Many prominent people supported the concert, even the former Illinois governor Rod Blagojevich did who later said he watched every episode.

History of Blu-ray

Presently, the available high definition medium is Blu-ray. Although the majority of the population is aware of this, they are not knowledgeable on the actual history.

High definition was released to the public shortly before the new millenium. With the advent of HD came the need for a suitable movie format, and Blu-ray turned out to be just that format.

The problem was that available media could not hold enough data to accommodate the HD format. The solution was simple; use a different type of laser that would enable higher densities of data to be stored. The best way to do this would be with a blue laser, which had a shorter wavelength than current lasers on the market.

A man named Shuji Nakamura is credited with developing a blue laser for commercial use. Prior to his invention, the existing blue lasers were too big and expensive to be used practically. His invention of blue laser diodes facilitated the creation of HD DVD and Blu-ray.

Two large corporations, Philips and Sony, came together to develop the Blu-ray disc. Before arriving on the name Blu-ray, they invented other predecessors known as DVR Blue and Ultra Density Optical.

After much improvement, Blu-ray was introduced in early 2002. The Blu-ray Disc Association was created to manage the format.

Although Blu-ray was announced in 2002, it was not until 2004 that the physical specifications were complete. In addition, prior to 2005 Blu-ray discs had to be kept in a protective case to prevent scratching, but a coating was implemented to protect the discs and eliminate the need for a case.

All the work put in to Blu-ray paid off. The disc type is now the premier HD format, and Blu-ray sales are climbing continually. There is no telling what further innovations are impending, but they will surely be exciting.
